Making my passenger backrest work for storage

The backrest's useless as a passenger pad since the previous owner swapped to a solo seat, but the metal top's perfect for pushing the bike. I mounted my Nelson-Rigg hard case on the luggage rails using a painted wood platform and zip ties, I added a cool metal badge from Etsy to cover the hole, drilled with a quality bit, and secured with Loctite..I am loving the extra storage, no more backpack on every ride

I figured I'd make the most of what was already there, it's held up better than I expected, and not having to wear a backpack every ride is such a relief.

Considering I'm also riding solo, I'm interested in the seat. Is it a custom one or some aftermarket? Once I do this conversion I'm definitely following your example for mounting a case. Thanks
